Classic Design Neckerchiefs - This is still the classic mid to late 1960’s design of the Wolverton neckerchief.  This is still the first major grouping of the design, where the bear is only black and has no brown.  In the three neckerchiefs shown here, the bear is a darker black variety.

Classic Design Neckerchiefs - This is the last of the classic 1960’s design of the Wolverton neckerchief.  These were issued about 1969 or 1970.  This is considered the second major grouping of the design because the bear now is black and brown.  The bear has also changed directions, symbolizing looking into the future instead of the past.

Transition Neckerchiefs - The yellow neckerchief in this photo was issued for the summer of 1972.  When it was ordered, Crescent Bay Area Council was merging with the San Fernando Valley Council, and they were not sure of the new Council name, so the words “Boy Scouts of America” were used.  The orange neckerchief with the new name “Great Western Council” was issued in either 1973 or 1974.
